This past weekend, Dorothy got to jump in a big pile of leaves. Before Rob cleared the last ones away, I had asked him to reserve a pile for her to be able to enjoy this experience, which I hope might become an annual tradition.
At first she wasn't quite sure what to do besides pick up big armfuls of the leaves and throw them up in the air - which she found delightful. But it wasn't long at all before she was crawling into the leaves, standing in them up to her shoulders, laying down in the leaves and covering all but her face, and crawling through them face-down. This was all SO much fun for her that even at the end when she stumbled out of the pile and took a tumble down the hill, face first, getting a mouthful of dirt - she still wanted to go back and play some more.
